Rein-Weston Takes Women’s Trial

Screen Shot 2014-11-18 at 9.33.22 AMFormer Princeton University stalwart Claire Rein-Weston (WA) came back from 2-1 deficits in both her semifinal and final matches to take first place at the U.S. Womens Team Trials in New York City. With the win the Seattle native secured her place on the team that will represent the US at the 2008 Women’s World Team Championships, taking place Nov. 30–Dec. 6 in Cairo, Egypt.  Rein-Weston will be joined in Egypt by Olivia Blatchford (CT), whom she defeated in a stirring five game final, 13-11, 7-11, 9-11, 11-5, 11-8, and Hope Prockop (MA) who reached the semifinals before being dispatched by Blatchford.  Natalie Grainger (CT), the current U.S. Champion and No. 3 ranked WISPA tour player, had already secured the first spot on the team.
