From the CEO

As CEO of the U.S. national governing body for squash and a member of the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Committee since 2004, Kevin has led transformative growth and positioned squash on the global stage, including a 130% increase in U.S. participation and expansion of annual revenue tenfold, while inspiring a dedicated team of 35 to achieve the organization’s mission.  Forty million dollars was raised to establish the 75,000-square-foot Arlen Specter US Squash Center in West Philadelphia. Opened in 2021, the Specter Center has 20 courts, the U.S. Squash Hall of Fame, a high-performance coaching center, and space for community programs occupied by local partner Squash Smarts. US Squash has innovated the sport’s digital landscape by creating the first globally licensed SaaS platform, now serving facilities and federations worldwide. Under Kevin’s leadership US Squash advanced gender equity in sports by pioneering equal prize money for men and women at the 2013 U.S. Open and he subsequently led efforts toward squash’s inclusion in the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic Games.

Prior to US Squash, Kevin worked for Sun Microsystems in the Worldwide Marketing Operations group. Kevin also managed worldwide sponsorships, which included negotiating sales and marketing deals with MLB.com and a multi-year relationship with the National Hockey League. Prior to Sun, Kevin worked in the corporate consulting division of the sports marketing firm ProServ. Kevin graduated with a B.S. from Cornell University, where he was a four-year member of the varsity squash team. His senior year, he was a co-captain and recognized as an All-American Honorable Mention.

Pickleball vs. Squash

Sport For Life x 2

I get the question a half dozen times a week, usually after exchanging the required pleasantries, “you playing any squash?” almost immediately followed by, “any dubs?”. The answers to those questions, if you care to know, are “once a week” and “sometimes.” It’s not entirely clear to me whether...

Or maybe our actions were speaking for themselves. To highlight...

College Squash Circa 1990

Reflecting on my college squash days nearly thirty years later, what immediately comes to mind are the road trips. Ten passenger vans driven by the coach. If an assistant coach joined, it was four of us in the back row. Squash bags were everywhere, under seats, on laps, and...
