(L-R) Kim Palterman and Scott Leighton set aside NESCAC rivalries for the good of U.S. SQUASH during their summer internship.

With the office move to New York City from the previous summer behind them, the staff at U.S. SQUASH was able to focus on new challenges for the summer of 2008. Two interns, Scott Leighton and Kim Palterman, were able to assist with many of the important tasks that came about this summer for the Association, including the implementation of a new technology platform and the construction of a new website (both of which will be launched in the fall).

Scott and Kim were able to put the NESCAC squash rivalry of their respective schools behind them in order to work together for the national governing body of the sport that they both love to play. Scott, entering his junior year at Tufts University, researched and updated the champions archives for the new website and helped assist in the further development of the U.S. SQUASH Hall of Fame. Scott also headed up the U.S. SQUASH Scholar Athlete Award for the 2007-2008 academic school years. Kim, entering her final semester at Trinity College this fall, helped organize tournament invoices and sanctioning for the previous and upcoming junior season. Kim also assisted in the selection and organization of the upcoming 2008 Can-American Challenge.

On behalf of the staff and our Board of Directors, U.S. SQUASH would like to extend its thanks for the dedication and effort that Scott and Kim put forth this summer. We wish them success in their future endeavors, on and off the courts
