Last year we brought you “The Two Ronnies” spoof of squash on YouTube. And being squash fanatics you’ve probably found lots of video clips about squash—how to hit the ball, the proper grip and highlights of points played around the world.
But for more on the lighter side of squash, a quick search on YouTube will take you to some clips featuring “Squash Buddies.” Though the clips you’ll find are advertising for a Danish Orange Soda, they are clear examples of what squash is not.
Not to be outdone, Julian Illingworth’s video of his “successful” attempts to have his picture hung on the wall of a restaurant in New York City are definitely worth three minutes of your day. Under the guise of a promotional video for the U.S. Open last October in NYC, the clip is a lighthearted view of the struggles even the best American player faces in his own country playing a fabulously underappreciated sport. Some day the world will be clamboring over themselves for pictures of top players!
