Local Call: Top Back Wall Out

SM Local Call May 2014

With the continued introduction of glass back courts has come some confusion about the ‘out line’ across the top of the glass. In a step to clarify this ruling it can be confirmed that the ball is called out if it hits the top edge of the back wall. Players should imagine that the top edge of the glass is merely a continuation of the red line that runs across the top of the court and if the ball makes contact with that edge then it is subsequently called out.
