After a successful inaugural U.S. Pro Squash Series last year, with American Julian Illingworth claiming the $5,000 top prize for winning the points series, the 2014 schedule of events is underway. The season’s first event for 2014 was won by Switzerland’s Reiko Peter in the Emerson Racquet Club Pro Series at The Racquet Club of St. Louis, Missouri.

Points will be accumulated throughout the Pro Series circuit of events with the winner securing a bonus prize at its conclusion. US Squash Vice President Conor O’Malley said, “The 2013 season exemplified both the caliber and diversity of world-class squash where the U.S. Pro Series showcased players representing thirty-three countries as well as some of the biggest stars on the Tour.

“We are delighted to see Julian Illingworth (eight-time U.S. national champion) jockey his way to the top of the Pro Series amongst the tremendously talented player pool that competed throughout the year. Another huge benefit we are experiencing with the Pro Series in the U.S. is the recent college grads turning pro and now, with over a dozen Americans competing, their presence will only grow as they begin to climb the rankings.”
