The Junior World Championships consists of an individual tournament followed by the team competition. In 2009, when the last Junior World Championships were held in Chennai (India), the US finished in fourth place. With veteran players, including reigning junior World Champion Amanda Sobhy (currently World No. 17), fellow touring professional Blatchford (currently World No. 42), and Mendez (the 2009 development player and current US No. 2) returning to the team, this year’s squad is poised to make history as they seek to become World Champions.

U.S. SQUASH Event Director Conor O’Malley stated, “This will be a great opportunity for the US to showcase the level of growth and talent of squash in the United States since the 1998 Junior Men’s World Championships at Princeton.”
