U.S. SQUASH National League Finals Announced

Screen Shot 2014-10-28 at 10.20.03 AMNew for the 2010-2011 season is the U.S. SQUASH National League Finals (NLF), pitting the best league teams in the country against each other to compete for the title of National Champions. Winners of sanctioned District League Divisions will be invited to participate in this inaugural event hosted at Harvard University’s Murr Center in Cambridge, MA, May 20-22, 2011.

To be eligible, leagues must comply with U.S. SQUASH League sanctioning policies, and be affiliated with a U.S. SQUASH District or specifically endorsed by U.S. SQUASH directly. For the men’s divisions, four players of the five-player roster will count towards the results. For women, three players of the four-player roster will count.

Districts (cities) expected to participate include Austin, Connecticut (Hartford/New Haven), Illinois (Chicago), Massachusetts (Boston), New York City, Northern New Jersey, National Capital (Washington, DC), NorCal (Bay Area/Sacramento), Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Rhode Island, Rochester, Seattle, and SoCal( Southern California).

Other potential markets which host non-sanctioned leagues, or used to host leagues, include Albany, Atlanta, Arizona (Phoenix), Central New Jersey, Dallas, Dayton, Detroit, Florida (Boca Raton), Houston, Maryland (Baltimore), and Minnesota.

Not currently hosting leagues, but with potential, are strong squash markets including Buffalo, Charleston, Denver, Greenwich/Westchester, Kansas City, Louisville, Madison (WI), Oklahoma City, Orlando, Raleigh/Chapel Hill, Salt Lake City, San Diego, St. Louis, and Wilmington (DE).
