New Management at WISPA

Screen Shot 2014-10-28 at 11.02.33 AMA long with the change at the top of the Women’s International Squash Players Association, when longtime CEO Andrew Shelley left to take the same position at the World Squash Federation this summer, WISPA has moved offices to the Queens’ Club in West Kensington, London, and the Association has hired several new people for their management team.

Samantha “Sam” Mueller has been hired as the new full-time Chief Administrative Officer to handle office administration and communications with members and promoters. She comes to WISPA after 15 years at Rothschild working as a global data market manager.

Tim Garner takes on the role of Tour Director, responsible for the WISPA calendar and tournament structure. Most recently, Garner has been working with Peter Nicol and Angus Kirkland at Eventis, promoting and managing the Canary Wharf Classic, the World Squash Awards and World Squash Day. Garner is also a former wop-30 player on the PSA tour.

Stewart Binns, renowned in the media, TV and Olympic world becomes a Broadcast and Development Consultant for WISPA. Binns’ broadcasting career over the past 30 years has brought several awards including a BAFTA (British Academy of Film and Television Arts), RTS (Royal Television Society), Grierson (for documentaries) and a Peabody (electronic media) award.

Ian Robinson is the new Special Projects consultant. Robinson will be jumping in feet first to ensure the success of the Women’s World Open taking place at press time in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt.

Jenny Denyer is a former World No. 8 who served on the Board in her playing days and has agreed to rejoin the WISPA Board. She has a Ph.D. in Sports Psychology and is consultant for Lane 4 in London.

Finally, Peter Goodman is a British based New Zealander living in London. For 20 years, Goodman was the Media Director for RADIO GOSH at Great Ormond Street Hospital in London. At WISPA, Goodman’s main goals will be to help WISPA and the sport gain more media attention. As a Commercial Solicitor at Jameson & Hill, Goodman put his legal expertise to work in the areas of property and Sports Law.
