With participation nearly doubled from last season’s inaugural event, 28 teams competed at the 2009 U.S. Middle School Team Squash Championships. Mirroring the rapid growth at both the high school and collegiate levels, new middle school teams are being formed every year, making the Middle School Team Championships a tournament with unlimited growth potential. This year’s event also gave the middle school players a glimpse into the future, as the tournament was put on hold Saturday afternoon so participants could enjoy watching Yale University tangle with Princeton University in one of the marquee college squash matchups of the season.
